What's free and what's paid?+
The CLI — encrypt, lock, unlock, recovery — is free with a free account (no card), and solo use never costs anything. The Team plan is a per-seat subscription that adds the hosted dashboard: team key sharing, revocable access codes, audit log, cloud key escrow, and CI/CD tokens.
Will the CLI ever cost money?+
No. The command-line tool that encrypts, locks, and unlocks your code is MIT-licensed and free forever.
How does per-seat billing work?+
You pay per team member who needs hosted dashboard access. Add or remove seats any time from the billing portal; billing prorates automatically. Cancel whenever you like — your locked code is yours and keeps working with the free CLI.
Do I need a credit card to start?+
Not for the CLI — sign up, install it, and start sealing repositories with no card. You only add a card when you upgrade to the Team plan.
What happens to my code if I cancel?+
Nothing — your vaults are encrypted locally and unlock with your passphrase or recovery code via the free CLI. The Team plan only gates the hosted dashboard features, never your ability to open your own code.
