Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a Sealrepo account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you are using Sealrepo on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these Terms; for material changes we will give at least 14 days' notice by email or in-app, and continued use after a change takes effect means you accept it.

2. The service

Sealrepo consists of (a) a command-line tool that encrypts source files on your machine before they enter your Git repository, and (b) a hosted dashboard for team key sharing, temporary access codes, audit logs, cloud key escrow, and CI tokens. Encryption and decryption happen on your device. Your keys and passphrases never leave your machine, we cannot decrypt your code, and we cannot recover a lost passphrase — recovery is possible only with your recovery code or, if you enabled it, cloud key escrow plus your escrow passphrase. A free account is required to operate the CLI; recovery with your recovery code works offline without an account.

3. Your code stays yours

You retain all rights to the source code and data you encrypt with Sealrepo. We receive no license to it beyond what is technically necessary to store the opaque, encrypted bytes you choose to place in escrow. We never receive it in readable form.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for safeguarding your passphrase, recovery code, escrow passphrase, and account credentials; for the legality of the data you process with Sealrepo; and for the people you grant access to. If you lose your passphrase, your recovery code, and (where enabled) your escrow passphrase, your encrypted data is unrecoverable by design — store your recovery code in a password manager when sealrepo init prints it.

5. Plans & billing

The CLI is free. The Team plan is billed per seat, monthly, in advance, through our payment processor Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Adding or removing seats prorates automatically on your next invoice. You can cancel any time from the billing portal; access continues until the end of the paid period. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect for you. Prices exclude taxes unless stated; you are responsible for applicable taxes. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Sealrepo to store or distribute material you have no right to, to interfere with the service or other customers, to probe or breach our systems other than under a coordinated disclosure, or to resell the service without our agreement. We may suspend accounts that violate this section, with notice where practicable.

7. Termination & your way out

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Importantly: because encryption is local, ending your relationship with us does not lock you out of your own code — your recovery code decrypts your data on your machine without our involvement, and sealrepo remove restores plaintext before you leave. After account closure we delete or anonymize your account data within 90 days, except minimal records we must keep for legal, billing, or security purposes.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Our security guarantees and their limits are documented in our security model; we make no promises beyond it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability under these Terms is capped at the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or USD 100 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
